At just 2.3 kg/m², PREFA roof tiles are among the lightest yet most durable roof coverings out there. A much-loved classic among PREFA roof products that has stood the test of time. With these reliable aluminium roof tiles, even roofs with intact older trusses can be renovated easily and affordably. Just four roof tiles is enough to cover a full square metre of roof surface for renovations or new-builds.

The PREFA roof tiles was developed over 75 years ago. In the post-war years, tinsmith Alois Gödl was on the hunt for robust roofing tiles that wouldn’t break. He landed on a metal roof because it is durable but at the same time lightweight. Aluminium fulfils these criteria perfectly. We’ve been refining our aluminium roof tiles ever since, in particular with a view to making installation simpler and quicker. Our lightweight PREFA aluminium roof tiles can be laid on flat roofs with a pitch of just 12°. Aluminium tiles from PREFA are distinguished by being very low-maintenance and give roofs a subtle, reserved and traditional look reminiscent of the classic brick tile roof. The high-quality P.10 surface has a matte finish but is still resistant to frost damage, rust, cracking, splitting and blistering, making it extremely weather-proof.

It would be too easy if we could offer you a total price here and now or tell you that a roof tile or façade shingle costs such and such. But unfortunately, it’s not that easy. That’s because every PREFA roof or façade needs to be carefully budgeted by one of our master roofers.

The breakdown of metals due to chemical or electrochemical reactions with their surrounding environment is called metal corrosion. The most well-known form of corrosion is the rusting of iron. Aluminium materials are largely corrosion-resistant and rust-proof!

Thanks to their light weight, PREFA roof tiles, shingles and rhomboid roof tiles, FX.12 roof panels are ideal for covering existing old roofs.

Small hail stones cannot damage a PREFA roof with a stucco surface. In the case of extremely large hail stones, as with all roofing materials, functional damage cannot be excluded. However, even in an extreme hail storm, the piercing of a PREFA roof can almost certainly be ruled out.
