PREFA aluminium roof tiles stand for the highest standard of quality, ensuring durability and stability. NO ADHESIVE, JUST NAILS
It doesn’t just look good, it’s quick to lay too: By attaching directly to the integrated click-bar, the R.16 roof plate makes the tinsmith’s life a lot easier. It also allows for completely new approaches to roof design. With its large size, boasting a component length of 70 cm and width of 42 cm, roofs can be covered using just 3.4 R.16 roof tiles per square metre, whilst at the same time giving the whole thing an elegant shine.
The R.16 roof tile can be used from a minimum pitch of 17°. With a weight of just 2.5 kg/m², this creates a truly lightweight roof that is also stormproof and even rust-proof thanks to the aluminium.

It would be too easy if we could offer you a total price here and now or tell you that a roof tile or façade shingle costs such and such. But unfortunately, it’s not that easy. That’s because every PREFA roof or façade needs to be carefully budgeted by one of our master roofers.
Metal roofs can be integrated into the exterior lightning protection system in accordance with the standard ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 62305-3. PREFA flat band roof panels (Prefalz and Falzonal) are therefore permitted as a natural part of the arrester and PREFA small format components (roof tiles, shingle, roof panels, rhomboid roof tiles) as natural components of the conductor (installation of an additional arrester and connection to the earth). Some standards stipulate exceptions according to which, for example, property at increased risk (e.g. potentially explosive premises) must be specially designed. The integration of PREFA roof and façade systems in the exterior lightning protection system must therefore be planned depending on the specifics of property in question. Information on the necessity and type of lightning protection on a property can be obtained from a lightning protection system engineer or approved electrician.
PREFA roof tiles, roof shingles, rhomboid roof tiles and FX.12 roof panels are an excellent choice for covering over older existing roofs thanks to their light weight. They can be quickly mounted to the existing roofing material, such as bitumen shingles or bituminous sheeting. This type of covering requires an intact sub-structure, correct roof pitch and other basic structural requirements!
Small hailstones will not do anything to a PREFA roof with a stucco surface. As is the case with all roofing materials, it is not possible to exclude the possibility of functional damage to the roof in the event of a hailstorm with very large hailstones. However, it is possible to exclude with absolute certainty the possibility of PREFA roofing being penetrated, even during the most extreme hailstorms.
The breakdown of metals due to chemical or electrochemical reactions with their surrounding environment is called metal corrosion. The most well-known form of corrosion is the rusting of iron. Aluminium materials are largely corrosion-resistant and rust-proof!
